X-Country/Snowshoeing Day Trips |
|
ContentsThere are two ways to book:
Online: You must be logged on to the members’ site. From there, click Day Trips, then X-Country Day Trips. Click "Register" beside the day trip you want and follow the prompts to complete the registration process. We will add more dates and information as the season progresses.
By phone: If you don’t have access to a computer or are having difficulty with the online booking, you can register by calling the HPSC Call Centre: (416) 537-7669, option 6. The Call Centre is open for bookings every Thursday between 4 pm and 6 pm. Make sure to have your membership number, trip number and credit card information handy when you call. Do not leave a message to book or cancel a trip as these messages are not retrievable.
On the night before any day trip, call the Snow Phone (416-537-7669, option 4, option 1) to verify the pick-up times, and that the trip is on.
Our costing is based on a minimum number of people showing up for the bus. When you book a trip, we expect to see you. Whether or not you show up, we get charged for the bus. This is why we do not refund the bus fee we charged by e-commerce. The better solution, if you discover that you can’t make it for a day trip you have booked, is to go back into the registration screens and click "Cancel Registration." If you do this before 6 pm on the Thursday prior to the day trip in question, you will get a refund. After 6 pm on Thursday the bus fee becomes nonrefundable.
Our x-country pricing policy and day trip prices for 2010 are now posted on the website.
X-country ski lessons are available on most day trips. You will see lesson options when you book your trip online. For more information on the various XC ski lessons, click here.
Most of the ski resorts we go to offer ski rentals, and lots of them offer snowshoes, too. For skiers, we will organize the rental of skis, boots and poles. An organizer or instructor will assist you. You will be asked to pay the rental fee in addition to your bus and trail fee.
On days with guided snowshoeing, the tour leaders will assist you with snowshoe rentals.
On any day where we organize rentals, this option will be shown on the booking page. If you want to rent individual pieces of ski equipment, or high-end equipment for which we did not provide the menu item, you must organize this yourself with the resort
