Day Trips Warning

For Saturday December 27, Saturday January 3 and Sunday January 4, bookings will close on the preceding Monday, not on Thursday! You must book by Monday December 22, and Monday December 29.

The Thursdays on which we would normally finish booking day trips are Christmas and New Years, respectively. Please tell your non-internet connected friends that the phone-ins are on the Mondays, between 4:00 and 6:00pm. Thursday afternoon bookings will resume after New Year’s weekend.

How to book a day trip

Click on the Members tab, click on Day Trips, then click on X-Country day trips. We will add more information as it comes online. As of November 24, 2008, no trips have been input.

On the night before any day trip, call the snow phone and verify the pick-up times, and that the trip is on.

Vouchers

We will have vouchers again this year. Vouchers will be for sale at the AGM, on long trips sign-up nights, and at the clubhouse, when it is staffed, until January 8.

To use a voucher, you must register it online as you book the trip. Vouchers will not be accepted in lieu of cash, on the bus.

No Shows

Our costing is based on a minimum number of people showing up for the bus. When you book a trip, we expect to see you. Whether or not you show up, we get charged for the bus. This is why we do not refund the bus fee we charged you through e-commerce.

If you registered for the trip with a voucher, you have not been charged anything, yet. If you fail to show for the trip, we must insist that you send us a voucher, or send us a cheque for $25. It is only fair.

X-Country Pricing Policy

The total cost of running a x-country day trip is the total cost of trail passes, the cost of the bus, plus some bank charges and other administration fees. We price day trips to approximately break even.

The bus fee charged by e-commerce is less than the actual cost of the bus. The trail fee charged on the bus is in excess of the cost of the trail passes. This ensures that the group leader will have enough cash at the chalet to pay for trail passes and rentals.

X-country day trips prices will be posted in December, when we work out the resort and bus costs.
