Trip Description:

This 3-day trip has three days of skiing at Stowe ski resort. Stowe is an extensive resort with lots of runs for everyone’s ability and trails steep enough to frighten even the most extreme skier. Stowe’s Mount Mansfield is Vermont’s highest peak (4,395 feet) and offers a wide range of terrain for every level.  There are wide open green runs, more difficult blue trails, some black mogul runs and two verrrry scary double-diamond ones! In total, Stowe has 118 trails with 16 percent for novices, 59 percent for intermediates and 25 percent for advanced skiers. Each trail averages nearly a mile in length, which is double the average trail length of any other resort in the East. The most extreme skiers among our members will be quite challenged by the famous "Front Four". Our instructors will guide us around this expansive resort on all 3 days.

The Town and Country Inn is located about 15 minutes from the ski base. Travel to the base will be by HPSC bus.  A free local shuttle bus runs continuously throughout the day and evening from Stowe for those who want to leave the hill early (or sleep in and go to the hill later), with a stop at the Town & Country Inn. It also runs through the village of Stowe for anyone who wants to participate in the nightlife or other activities in the village.

Lodging at Town and Country Inn is 3-star, ie basic rooms which are clean and large with 2 double/queens and outside entrances. The Carriage Room Restaurant for breakfast and dinner is located centrally a few steps from each room. The après-ski bar will have pre-dinner hors d’oeuvres each night with local beers on tap around a roaring fireplace. A good opportunity to relate ski stories and socialize with everyone on the trip. HPSC has stayed here number of times and members like the atmosphere and the tasty selection of plentiful food. It’s buffet style but they never disappoint.
